Bela Fleck recently visited the Deering factory and had a chance to sit down with Janet Deering and discuss banjo tone, banjo bridges, and his current projects he is working on.

And here she is! The strings are put on and the bridge aligned for optimum playability before final assembly and set up. Two of the three Deering Craftsmen who worked on the project join Janet Deering for a photo, just before it is put into the box and shipped out.

Nearly there! The neck is aligned and fitted to the pot, with the coordinator rods added. Meanwhile, the resonator with stunning hand carved overlays is given a final run on the buffing machine.
The first of two Deering Gabriella banjos will be finished today and shipped to its new home. This morning at the Deering factory in Spring Valley, CA, Colby starts the final stages of the Gabriella neck, ready for final assembly!
